Hello Journal,
Here is an account of the 6th EDET session. We learnt how to create a Podcast using Audacity. l had no idea what a podcast was. how amazing technology is! Podcasts are very versatile they can be used for a variety of activities in the classroom.Students can use podcasts in the classroom to interview each other, tell stories, create newscasts, hold debates, or run radio shows. Schools can use podcasts to make announcements via their Web site or to record guest speakers and publish their presentations available online.
I used the audacity program to create a podcast from a script I created for a math lesson on primary shapes. I recorded a poem in which i gave the properties of each of the primary shapes. It was fun hearing my own voice recorded. I had some trouble manipulating the program. I had to record my podcast several times before I got it right. my teacher assisted me and exercised a lot of patience with me during the session.
